We tell you about the version of the song "Lovefool" by twocolors
“Lovefool” by twocolors is an energetic dance remake of the famous composition by The Cardigans, released in 1996. The original version was sustained in calm rhythms, but the duo of Pierre and Emile saw in it the potential to create a bright commercial track. The musicians jokingly call the song “a freak on the record”, which unexpectedly turned into a hit thanks to a randomly selected disco beat during work in the studio.
The story behind the creation and meaning of the song Lovefool by twocolors
If we talk about the meaning of “Lovefool”, the song tells about a girl whose feelings remained unrequited – her beloved no longer feels the same affection for her. At such moments, the bitter truth seems unbearable, and a person is ready to believe even a sweet lie, just not to face reality. The heroine seems to justify his indifference, taking the blame for the breakup on herself, and clings to the illusion that their relationship is still alive.

“It wasn’t just about speeding up the original and putting a new beat on it. We wanted to completely reimagine ‘Lovefool’, giving the song a new sound.”
twocolors gave the song “Lovefool” a new sound, preserving its emotional depth but adding a modern electronic twist. Their version of “Lovefool” became a hit, gaining popularity on streaming platforms and in clubs around the world.
When creating “Lovefool”, the members of twocolors did not even imagine that the track would reach such heights of popularity:
“You can never really predict whether a song will become a worldwide hit. You can only hope for success, but there are no guarantees. If you declare in advance that it is a hit, it is like letting off steam, depriving the track of magic. You can create a perfect composition with flawless chords and a memorable chorus, but the final verdict is always made by the audience.
The most surprising thing is that we waited for the release for over a year. And when we finally decided to release it, Germany was just introducing the first quarantine. The pandemic hit at the most inopportune moment. We even thought: maybe we should postpone the release? After all, it’s an energetic dance track, and the clubs are closed. But waiting for the end of the pandemic meant a delay of two years. Luckily, we decided not to postpone it – and we were right.”
Twocolors’ version of “Lovefool” has become a symbol of their ability to reimagine classic tracks, giving them a modern and fresh sound. The song has become the duo’s signature song, demonstrating their talent for creating music that both respects the original and offers something new.
